2026 Climate Law in Valais: Solar Power Becomes the Standard

New Obligations and Subsidies: What’s Changing for Valais Property Owners

Starting in 2026, the Confederation's Energy Strategy 2050 becomes a reality with a mandatory requirement to install photovoltaic panels on all new builds and during major roof renovations. For the canton of Valais, this measure is a unique opportunity: a solar-equipped property sees its market value increase by 5% to 8% on average.

The cantonal subsidy program (via the Valais Energy Office) has been enhanced to support this transition. In addition to the federal "Pronovo" rebate, owners can now benefit from specific grants if they integrate battery storage systems. At Summum Immo, we systematically include GEAK (Cantonal Energy Certificate for Buildings) analysis in our valuations. An A or B energy rating is no longer an option; it has become the gold standard for real estate excellence. Our technical expertise helps you evaluate the solar potential of your future purchase or maximize your current property's value before listing it for sale.
